About Me
I am currently employed as a Data Scientist at Outlier (Scale AI) and am an INE-certified Junior Penetration Tester (eJPTv2). My professional focus centers on the intersection of security, digital forensics, and AI/ML. My current work at Outlier focuses on refining the technical integrity of large language models through reinforcement learning, auditing, and debugging AI-generated Java, Python, and SQL code for accuracy and performance.
My academic background includes studying Cybersecurity & Networking and Digital Forensics at Roger Williams University, where I was a consistent Dean’s List recipient and a member of the Cybersecurity & Intelligence Club. In addition to my eJPTv2 certification, I have completed specialized training in cloud infrastructure through Google and INE, and I currently maintain a global ranking in the top 5% on the TryHackMe platform.
I am an advocate for free and open-source software and a member of both the Free Software Foundation and IEEE. Beyond software, I have a passion for hardware repair, system building, and component-level troubleshooting, which allows me to understand systems from the ground up.
I am also an avid fisherman and guitar player, and I enjoy playing basketball with my friends in my free time.
This site is where I document projects, write up technical guides, and share things I find interesting. Feel free to reach out via email: josh@joshfarias.com or connect with me on LinkedIn.
